I have lived in Canada most of my life, other than during my University years which I passed at Oxford taking my degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and where I served for a year as President of the Oxford University Student Union. Professionally, I work in the field of peace and conflict resolution, with a special emphasis on the Middle East. In my volunteer life, I write; represent Canada in equestrian sport; fence sabre; contribute to development charities in various capacities; and act as a Director to a number of philanthropic and community boards. The tabs above link to a broader view of the eccentric spheres of activity in my life: my formal education; my professional engagements; my voluntary and community service; and the citations that have occasionally come out of them.
Special Note for 11 April 2008: If you are looking for anyone named "Akash Maharaj" (note the single "a" in "Akash" as distinct from the double "aa" in my name "Akaash"), I am afraid you have come to the wrong web site. Still, I hope you enjoy your visit! |
